AI Shopping Copilot Privacy Policy

Overview

AI Shopping Copilot is designed with privacy in mind. We minimize data collection and storage, keeping most information local to your browser. However, we do process some data when you use paid features.

Data We Collect

Product Analysis (Free & Pro)

When you activate the extension on shopping pages, we:

• Read visible product text, prices, and reviews from the current page
• Send this content to our backend and to Anthropic's Claude API for analysis
• Return the analysis results to your browser
• Do not store product page content on our servers after returning the response
• Do not link this analysis to your identity

Payment Processing (Pro Subscriptions)

When you purchase a Pro subscription through Stripe, we:

• Receive your email address from Stripe's checkout session
• Generate a license key to activate Pro features in your browser
• Store your email and license key status locally in your browser's storage
• Do not store your payment card information—Stripe handles all payment processing
• Use Stripe's services according to Stripe's Privacy Policy

Local Storage Only

The extension stores the following data locally in your browser, never transmitted to our servers:

• Your daily usage count
• Your Pro subscription status and license key
• Your shopping preferences
• Recent product analysis results (for faster loading)

Third-Party Services

Anthropic Claude API

Product page content is sent to Anthropic for AI analysis. Anthropic's privacy policy applies to this data: Anthropic Privacy Policy.

Stripe Payments

Payment processing and your email from checkout are handled by Stripe. See Stripe's Privacy Policy for details on how they handle payment data.

Permissions Explained

The extension requests the following Chrome permissions:

• activeTab: Read product text from the current page you're viewing
• scripting: Extract and analyze product information
• storage: Store usage count, Pro status, and license keys locally
• tabs: Detect which shopping website you're on
• alarms: Schedule periodic checks for watched products (every 6 hours, optional)
• notifications: Alert you when watched products may have price changes

What We Don't Do

• We do not sell your data to third parties
• We do not track your browsing history beyond the current shopping page
• We do not store payment card information
• We do not retain product page content on our servers

Data Retention

• Product analysis data: Not stored on our servers
• Email address (from payment): Stored only for license validation and support
• Local browser data: Remains in your browser until you clear it or uninstall the extension

Your Rights

You can:

• Clear all local data by uninstalling the extension or clearing your browser storage
• Request information about your email address linked to your Stripe payment
• Contact us with privacy concerns
